The Albert Park circuit was created in 1995 using existing roads around Melbourne's Albert Park lake. The 5.278km layout features 14 corners across a fast, flowing semi-street circuit that has hosted F1 since 1996.
Melbourne hosted its first F1 Grand Prix in 1996, won by Damon Hill. In 2026 it once again kicks off the season as the Round 1 opener — made extra special with all-new F1 technical regulations debuting for the very first time.
Albert Park is a fast, flowing semi-street circuit around a beautiful public lake. The bumpy surface rubbers in as the weekend progresses. Four DRS zones create plenty of overtaking opportunities. Average speeds exceed 235 km/h on the main straight — one of the quickest circuits on the calendar.
Melbourne is consistently ranked one of the world's most liveable cities. The race takes place in early March during beautiful Australian autumn weather (20–26°C daytime). Beyond the circuit, Melbourne offers world-class restaurants, bars, beaches and culture. The city buzzes with F1 energy for the entire race week.
The F1 Paddock Club above the pit lane gives you the ultimate view. For grandstands, the Piastri Grandstand on the main straight is spectacular from lights out to chequered flag. The Brabham Grandstand at Turn 1 is perfect for first-lap drama — and with the sun behind the stand, it's one of the most comfortable spots too.
